Official Grand Re-Opening!

Today marks our Official Grand Re-Opening and the beginning of 2010!

Since our inception in 2001, this is only the third redesign of the Peekaboo Designs website but yet it’s the most important one. The first two website designs were based on Coldfusion scripting and a Microsoft SQL backend. We moved the newly redesigned website to a new host and rebuilt the website from the ground up around the Wordpress CMS platform.

This will enable us to add new products to the website faster and also make implementing changes to the website faster as well. We’ve also added a Gallery Slideshow viewer to better showcase our Photo Magnet designs.

While looking for a free handwriting font, I came across this cool website that allows you to create your own font based off of your own handwriting. You don’t need any software, just access to a printer and a scanner.

When we first introduced Save the Date magnets to our customers several years ago, I expected we would primarily create Save the Date magnets for newly engaged couples to announce their wedding date. I soon learned that this would not be the case.

Since adding Save the Date magnets to our product line, we have created Save the Date magnets for not only newly engaged couples but for a lot of customers announcing all sorts of events. A Save the Date magnet is essentially an invitation, therefore what a Save the Date magnet could be used for is only limited by your creativity.

Renovating Website

With the economy in the dumps business has been slow for awhile so I’ve decided that it’s time to renovate the website. Not only will we be able to reduce our monthly expenses from switching from a Coldfusion webhost to a PHP webhost, but by developing the site around a Wordpress CMS we’ll be easily able to update the website on the fly.
